"Horrible Car" Poor Quality & Performance. Review on Maruti Suzuki SX4

I bought this car ZXi few months back in Noida and my problem started after 500km till today I have done 2, 200km. I am shocked to see such a poor product from Maruti.

Gearbox – this is$hit, not only it is notchy it started making noise after first service, car has already been to workshop twice after that although it has reduced 50% but still there and people in my family very annoyed with me for buying such a horrible car. Engine is very noisy, cabin not well insulated, road noise heard. Doors rattling started at 1, 000+ KM. Car started drifting towards left, wheel alignment was not proper. Rear seat is not only small and uncomfortable(which I knew from start) but ride is very bouncy for passengers and sometimes car sways(high speed) due to large rear wheel over hang and high CG. It is winters here and I am just managing 10.21 kmpl with avg speed of around 45-55KM. Volume control buttons in steering got stuck and I could hear horn noise in speakers. This has been solved but quality of music system is below average.

These are few of the problems but this car is not worth its money. When I was buying the car I was impressed with the features – nearly 80% more compared to Honda City and 20% more to Verna petrol. But after driving all this time I am quite sad to buy this car and made a wrong decision. Although I have no complaint as such against Maruti service they have been attending the problem, I am unhappy with the product. I never drove the Verna before and two of my office colleagues have petrol and one has diesel. Petrol is such a nice and peppy, smooth, noiseless(VTVT technology) car with descend 12+ mileage. Engine and gearbox is the heart and soul of the car if that is not good other features like airbags, ABS etc. have no meaning. I normally don’t drive fast so road gripping etc. have no meaning. Before this I had never heard of the engine technology used in SX4 this type of outdated stuff only sells in India, SX4 has next to NIL sales world over. They have done nearly 8K-10K km in Verna without any problem, I am really jealous. I am software pro not working for a freight forwarding company which requires carrying huge amount of luggage, 500L boot is just not required which makes this car huge a part from this Verna is bigger from inside and compact from outside which makes it perfect city and highway car. Honda is very high on quality if someone is willing to spend the money but I am really impressed with Hyundai quality.

I don’t know when these problems will be solved I am going again on Saturday to workshop. I have told them to replace the gearbox, let’s see. So guys do look carefully at other options like Honda City or Verna in the market before spending your hard earned money don’t be a fool like me L
