Best car in the Segment. Review on Maruti Suzuki SX4

I wanted to buy a new cars my old buddy Maruti Zen is 5 yrs with 70000 kms.

I started my search considering my budget upto 7 lacks. My constraints were lesser cost and good product with some good features. With my budget I thought and almost finalised for Maruti Dzire., but when I test drove it, I was shocked to see a pathetic vehicle. So I have test drove other options, like Ford Fiesta, AVEO, Honda City and SX4. About Ford and GM cars I dont really wanteed to go as their spares are expensive. Also resale cost for them is less and maintenace is high. Honda City was actually best choice in that segment, but its cost was hogh as well as its ground clearance was less. So I finally drove the SX4 and found that perect car for my needs. We have started with Maruti 800 as our first car and we have evolved with it. After the first Maruti 800, we purchased MAruti Zen Vxi and this time again the MAruti SX4.

Some of the points which I found better in it are:

1. Spacious seating. Good space between the front and rear seats.

   
   




2. High Ground clearance. Its really helpful as my father was having trouble getting in and out of our old car (ZEN). But in SX4 as the ground clearance is high, getting in and out is really easy and comfortable.

   
   




3. Maintenance cost is less. AS I mentioned that this is our 3 rd Maruti car and this is what we have experienced for last 10 yrs.

   
   




4. Cheaper Spares cost. Also availability is also good everywhere...

   
   




5. Resale Value. Our previous Maruti vehicles were sold at really handsome cost.

8. Good seating quality and arm rests.

Some of hte points I want as a improvement:

5. A- pilar which is blcking the visibility while taking truns.

   
   

Its really a winner. I know Honda is Best in that segment, but what Maruti can offer is come what less luxury at less cost. Performance wise I didnt found it any lesser that Honda. Only in Honda's case reliability and interiors will be better. But personally I dont wanted to spend almost 1 lacks extra for Honda City, as I was getting what I wanted in the SX4. And other thing I thout was whatever 1 lacks I save by not going to Honda will be useful for the fuel of the vehicle for atleast 2 -3 yrs ( Its not the consideration for all, but even that was one of the point I thought of!!!!). Other thing is that as a Automotive Engineer, I know about the Reliability of the FOrd and GM vehicles.. So I wont ever recommend it to anyone. Cost wise AVEO was lesser as compared to SX4, but the running cost and maintenence and spares are too much...

One more thing is that SX4 is fully loaded with the accessories usually people need. It has Power Steering, AC with Climate controls, Music system, Arm rest , ABS, Immobiliser, etc.... so in my car other than the Floor mats, Window film, and Seat cover, I havent spent a single penny.

Really I would like to recommens this car as it offer Best value for Money...!!!!
