Maruti Suzuki SX4 ZXI MT VVT+MS Genuine Sports Kit. Review on Maruti Suzuki SX4

This is my UPDATED review here and there is no better product to write than my new Maruti Suzuki SX4 ZXI MT VVT with Sports Kit. I have completed 2000 Kms and I must tell you, the decision to buy a SX4 was the one of the best decisions I took in life.The car has an awesome performance, with great comfort and reliability. And one more thing, I got my SX-4 loaded with Sports Kit paying extra 20K.Maruti Suzuki provides you with the maruti suzuki genuine sports kit.I also got maruti suzuki genuine parking sensors installed at 4K.The sports kit includes the spoiler, a sporty rear bumper, side flaps on both sides..and a front attachment between the 2 fog lamps.And what happened?? It transformed the car.

When I was buying, I was inclined towards the new Honda City for its slightly better looks with identical performance, but when I saw SX4 with the kit, it literally killed Honda City thoughts in my head.i went ahead ..booked a silky silver color sx4.Another disadvantage of  Honda city is that it is too low for Indian road conditions and a bump below is inevitable ; its a sure bump with 4 people on board, even if you slow the car down.I experienced this problem with the city in its test ride itself.

PROS :-

Performance : Excellent pickup and control, high driving position like SUV, excellent ABS functioning. The new VVT engine is a revolution.Its response is awesome, feels smoother and you can really feel the power at your disposal under the hood.

Comfort : I dont feel tired even after driving thru chaotic traffic, the front and the rear seats, both are good in providing comfort.There is sufficient leg space.The high driving position is a boon and a wonderful advantage when you are driving thru traffic or cruising on highway or driving on a rough road.

Mileage : 11-12 in city..and 13-16 on highway. Very good for a petrol powered sedan.

Dealer and service: Maruti Suzuki - the response was excellent and service is the best. they delivered the car on the promised date and even provide Home pickup and drop facility during service time.

Automatic Climate Control & other features: This is one of the important features that makes SX4 a clear winner in this segment.Along with superb performance it comes with ACC.ACC is not present in any other car in this segment as per my findings.It is highly effective in all climates.Maruti Suzuki has really put a lot of effort in improving the interiors of SX4 keeping in mind practicality with aesthetic feel to it for eg.the rear arm rest, the various holders, and classy upholstery. The electronically operated side view mirrors are large enough to put even SUVs to shame.

Music System : Its has a MP3 player with USB and AUX..and the sound quality from speakers is also good.The whole Music panel looks futuristic specially when you turn on the lights in late evenings and nites.

Stability : Before buying, I thought that maybe stability will be affected on high speeds due to high ground clearance( as told by the Honda sales person when I asked him to compare SX4 and City )..but I was glad it was proved wrong. The car was stable on speeds on 140-150. The super wide tyres also play their role very well.

Looks- Features-Cost( a comparison) : I want to point out that I got more features in SX4 than a Honda City and it costs lesser by 1.5 lakhs.I got better looks than a city after the Maruti Suzuki genuine sports kit was installed on the car, and even after paying additional 20K for it, it was still lesser by 1.30 lakhs than a Honda City.You get a SX4 ZXI with absolutely killer looks and more features, like a sports car that will get you all the attention when you drive.

Exchange of old car : I was driving a ZEN VX 1998 for which I got a 'True Value' of 50K( evaluation)+25K ( exchange bonus on SX4) . I also got a cash benefit of 20K.So the total adjustment was a cool 95K.When I was enquiring about the same thing with the Honda City dealer, he was just offering 50K as evaluation on my old car, and no other discount or bonus.

CONS :-

-The high rear makes the parking sensor absolutely necessary.In my view it should be integrated with the ZXI model rather than to be installed separately later.It costs just 4K.

-The A column , but its perfectly manageable and has not posed any serious problems.

CONCLUSION:If anyone is looking for a car in this segment, SX4 is the one to buy.It will be the your auto-life's best decision.
