Bought my car on 28 Dec 2007 from Berkeley Automobiles Chandigarh.
All ppl from Chd should stay away from this dealer as they are cheap and only concerned till yr car is booked.
Once money is recd by them they behave like crooks and have no respect for time and Maruti's image. I am sure such dealers will wreck the Maruti's image and also SX4.
I took delivery of my new car and while driving out noticed that there was a hairline crack on the headlight.
Once the documentation was done the Sales Manager Prabhjit did not take cognigence of the crack and said its a minor thing and transportation main ho gaya hoga. But he promised to do something about replacing it and told me to take the car as I had booked Sunlight Copper color 15 days ago and only one car was avl. Till date nothing has happened and matter has been reported to Maruti whose reply is also awaited. In the customer satisfaction dept HONDA tops I feel.so buyers take this point as a hard gulp and be firm and dont take delivery of yr new Sx4 from the dealer gefore checking the car throughly as they will just not budge later.
I was put off by the cheap behaviour as buying the top end variant ZXi and on the 1st day getting the car with a crack in the headlight.
Next step will be harsh ofcourse from my end as I will approach the District Consumer Court if Maruti also fails to act on my complaint.
Overall the car is otherwise brillaint.the only bad aspect is the low fuel efficiency of 10 kmpl with AC in city and about 14 on the highways. BTW, since I am in the Army and got my car from Chd CSD depot being cheapest in India there I had the opportunity to drive 2000 kms from CHD to MUMBAI while stopping over in Delhi, Jaipur, Udaipur and Ahmedabad enroute to Mumbai.
The car behaved fantastic on the Golden Quad Expressway and after 1st service in Delhi was more free revving and a joy to drive on the GQ.
The high grnd clearance is a boon for bad roads in India and SX4 rules here, thumbs down to Honda City.
However I find the engine a bit noisy while idling and a bit of tappet / valve noise is heard.
Reversing is a pain as there is a total blind spot behind but I am doing good till now w/o the reverse sensors as I hate some mechanic drilling holes in my new cars rear bumpers.maybe I put after the absolute newness feel of the car has gone.
The climate control is fantastic and the AC super chilling.
ABS and airbags featuring on the SX4 ZXi throw the Honda City out of the window.
They are absolutely reqd features on a car this expensive and if Honda feels they can make the Indians drink the premium image story they are sadly mistaken. What will honda badge do guys if god forbid u have a crash on the highway?
Honda City was just selling till now as there was no worthy car to take it on and Mr Khattar of Maruti has done a wise thing by beating the CITY with top class features embedded in the SX4 ZXi.
Guys if u have extra mulah to throw at Honda brand then its yr choice but the wiser decision is as on date the SX4 ZXi.simple logic price to feature ratio and top it all Maruti product.
DAMN the stupid dealers like Berkeley but car has the right stuff for all to buy it.
My car had already done 2500 kms within a month and shall update on the F.E. part after the 2nd service at 5000kms.
