I had no problem till the free service was over. Your bills would be very low. Upto 10000 Kms my service bill was just 1500/-. After 10000 till 25000 Kms I have spent around 17500/- I have not replaced any major faulty products but they advice you do certain services:
Injector cleaning – Rs. 800/-
Air Suction Intake, Throttle body cleaning – Rs. 900/-
Engine flush-Quick clean – Rs. 800/-
On 10000 Kms they advised me to do engine de-carbonizing – Rs. 1350/-
I think charging 800/- for Engine quick flush
and then charging me Rs 400/- for BARDAHL(Oil Supp) – 320 ml is nothing but
deceiving the customer.
He charged me 800/- for Injector
cleaning and again Rs. 200/- for BARDAHL Sp. Inj. KLENE – 100 ml.
When I asked my friend regarding his Hyundai Santro, he told me that he was advice for De-carbonizing only after 40000 Kms. So beware of these fancy words while you take your vehicle to these guys.
Engine oil change is adviced every 10, 000 Kms by Maruti, but it is always best if you change it every 5000 Kms if possible. When I gave my vehicle for 15000 Kms periodic service he advised me not to change Engine oil, but just add an additive. the cost of the engine oil is Rs. 480/- but the additive costs 400/-(the rates are approx.).
This is not only the case with Popular, my father took my Esteem VXI(15000 Kms) to Maruti Service Masters in Chennai the next week. They have also advised all the above. While returning back he called me and told me that the bill would be around 7500/-. I advised him about the unnecessary services these guys make and he immediately(just 15 minutes after the vehicle was given for service) called up the advisor and told him not to do engine and radiator flush etc but just service the vehicle and replace any worn out parts. To his surprise the advisor told him that he ahd already started Engine and radiator flush. then he argued with the advisor and later reduced the bill to 3500/-.
Be aware of these people. Do not feel shy to ask questions regarding services advised.
