Maruti car booking poor exp. with Kalyani motors

I had booked a new celerio VXI automatic on 16/12/2014 with kalyani motors(KM) bilekahalli branch, I was informed by Kalyani that my new car will be delivered on 4th January 2015. But will be a 2014 model as 2015 model will not be in market before march 2015.


On my inquiry about the payment needed for booking KM had mentioned that I can pay any token amount for booking and that the remaining can be paid on delivery of the car.


On payment of Rs 5000 on 16/12/2014, KM took my signatures on a contract deed mentioning  for preparing the invoice of the car.


On 20/12/2014, KM asked me to pay 2, 00, 000 rupees for confirming and blocking the car, as they were expecting a price rise in January and to get the papers ready before January 1st. Which I agreed and paid through cheque on 21/12/2014.


When I requested on 3rd for delivery of the car KM is back tracking on the actual date and informing me that they do not have the car in stock.


There has been lot telephonic exchange on the same with KM confirming me that they will provide a 2015 model in a week for the same price I had initially agreed. Now the new date of delivery is around 2nd week of January 2015.


Then after few dates the executive calls up and complained that Maruti is not dispatching the vehicle as a reason they are unable to provide the vehicle and the problem is to be addressed by maruti.


When I went to follow up  with KM on 7th January they tell me that, they missed to invoice my request with maruti and since their executive is new she missed to ask me for a full payment.


So now they cannot give me the car for the earlier agreed price and will have to completely do a new booking with the new date of delivery in February 2nd week. When I did not agree for the price rise and requested to refund my money with a written apology.


They inform me that they will not return the amount 2, 05, 000 unless I sign the cancellation letter. And when I go for cancellation they will reduce Rs 1000 from payment as it is the company policy(even if its a mistake by their executive).


Unfortunately the team member did not even feel bad about the whole incident. Incidentally we met another customer who had the similar problem from Kalyani Motors. So this looks like their practice to extract 1000 rupees(and not to forget the interest for the amount paid) from customers.


My advise is to stay away from kalyani motors bilekahalli branch(bannerghatta road)
