I prefer manual to automatic. Therefore I have checked out the MT Ignis. I found the front and rear cabin space to be very good. The plastics on the dashboard and the doors are good. I found it to be better than the Kwid. Remember you are paying much more money here so this much is expected. The dashboard looks plain and straight. In a way this design creates more space. It has nice features like Day Time LED Lights, 7 Inch Touch Screen, Automatic AC etc. The seats are really comfortable. The engine performance is proven to be very good. It's a Maruti Suzuki, so no surprises here. For now Maruti will service the Nexa brand cars at it's Service Centers. I was told It will take a while before Nexa establishes seperate service centers for this brand. Overall the performance, interiors and features offered in this car are very good.

The boot space is a disappointment. For a car that's longer, wider and taller than the Kwid you get only 260 L boot space. It felt a bit cramped. It proves that Renault did a better job at engineering than Suzuki. I liked the front and sides of this car. The side profile of this car is really beautiful and clearly gives you an SUV impression. But Suzuki messed up really bad with the rear. It seems they used the rear to pay a tribute to an old Suzuki car by just refining that car's rear look on this car! I found the Kwid's touchscreen and navigation to be better than the one on the Ignis. This is unacceptable and disappointing for the price we are paying on this car. On the safety front, it simply blows the Kwid away! This is one safe and solid car!

The Ignis costs Rs. 4 Lakhs more for the top Alpha MT variant(Costs Rs. 8 Lakhs Plus) compared to the top RXT variant of the Kwid(Costs Rs. 4 Lakhs Plus). Both from a budget and premium perspective it doesn't make sense because on one hand you have the superbly designed, affordable and feature rich Kwid. On the other hand, you get better interiors, spacious cabin and boot space plus a new engine in the Baleno which makes it a better buy for an additional Rs. 75, 000 plus. Besides this the Tata Tiago is also an excellent choice as its top petrol variant is available under Rs. 5 Lakhs. With the features it has, the Tiago is superb VFM car!

I think this car will do okay due to it’s safety aspect and by people who may like this plain modern and retro box design but it will not appeal to all. Yes its small dimension make it easier to drive it in traffic than the Baleno but still its price and positioning simply isn't justifiable. However If you are looking for a small, solid and safe car and aren't bothered by its ugly rear plus you don't mind splurging extra cash, then there isn't any harm in buying this car. To put it in a sentence, it is a solid but expensive car! It’s clear that Suzuki hasn’t done a good job with this car especially on the rear styling and pricing fronts. This car seems more like a reluctant reaction to competition rather than an enthusiastic action by Suzuki!
