Hi all,
Agreed that Gypsy is really costly to maintain, if you are using only as a regular transportation and highway driving. Parts are costly and are Suzuki Genuine parts mostly.
But, have you considered the 4 X 4 WD on off-roading and rock crawling? Except for JEEPs, which of the cars or SUVs can do these actions.
You are owning little monster, capable of roading on-roading, off-roading, rock crawling. Consider yourself as proud owner of Gypsy, which many want to buy but can't afford it. Bring red in their eyes with your possession.
I am a member of Jeep Club and Marutigypsy club on Yahoo Groups. I participate in off-roading events along with Jeeps on 4 WD mode. Please check the below link for some photos of my Gypsy performance.

I request all gypsy owners to do some thing different from normal driving once in a while.
