I have Maruti Esteem VXi from Aug 2006. Now it is a year old car. I am going to
share you my experience with this car.
Specification:
This mid-size car has a 1298cc petrol engine,
with dimensions of 4090(L) X 1575(W) X 1395(H) mm and weighs 860kg.
It has a ground clearance and a wheelbase of 170mm and 2365mm respectively, a
turning radius of 4.8 meters.
It has average of 11 km per litre in the city and 12.5 km per litre on the
highway.
It also comes with a factory fitted air conditioner, heater and has additional
features like tachometer, body coloured bumpers, moulded floor and trunk
carpets and is available in 5 colours.
It has security features like collapsible steering column, childproof rear door
locks, and side impact beams.
Euro 1 version of this model is also available. Variants available are
LX, LXi, VX, VXi.
Good about this car
This car is a pleasure to drive and it hugs the road has
great pickup and extremely manoeuvrable in the hills.
This car has amazing looks and perfect aerodynamics, in short a good design
It has authorized service centres all over India. Maintenance is low and the
spare parts are easily available in the market.
Its’ Tyre
consumption is minimum.
It is very good in Highway drive.
Five people can sit in this car very comfortably.
You can also convert it to work with LPG/CNG and still have lots of boot space
left over.
I HAVE TOUCHED 140 KM/HR ON LONG DRIVES.
Bad about this car*
The body is very low that it gets hit by pot holes or big speed breaker,
not for Indian villages, Air conditioner is not good at summer time. When the
AC is on, the car starts loosing its power and efficiency.
This car is not for tall and fat people since getting in and out is difficult.
It will disappoint you with it its low pickup - in 4th gear.
it takes a lot of time to accelerate
On high altitudes, the front glass vibrates and makes a lot of noise.
Original Battery change required in one and
half years.
The car is low so unfit for bad roads, the lower body gets hit by bad
roads or big speed breakers,
THIS CAR IS THAT IT HAS TOO LOW SEATS.
THE INTERIOR IS NOT SO ATTRACTIVE LIKE THE NEWER CARS.
THE UPHOLSTRY NEEDS A FACELIFT.

*I had wished if the steering wheel had the
adjustable.*
Now a Day there are many option in the market too in the same price and range.
