1000 as popularly known, coz it has 1000cc engine but later maruti got a new variant in market which had 1190cc engine but people still called it 1000. If you buy a new car it costed less than 450000 and then came 50000 model and that was the last in sedan category. Coz maruti had to make way for swift, baleno and other dumb looking cars. If this car was ever launched with marutis refined k10 engine aroubd same price point, it would've excceded sales than hobda city also but if they had so much brains then these outside companies wouldnt had made so much money in our country right. Had lot of maibtanence in later stages that time it was the era of carburrators, air filter was'nt invented then.
