It is really tough to find out the negative points from this car but as per examination some of the points are there when we compare it with other cars. First of all I will give some points and then will explain the details. So the basic negative points are as follows:
Ground clearance is low, Front part is bit week, Initial Torque is low, Dash board is not attractive, Interior looks like old, Maintenance is costly, Heat transfer will be more inside the cabin due to the tilted rear wind shield, Diesel knocks time makes noise, Luggage space is less, Arm rest for the rear seat passengers is missing. There are no rear AC vents, No cool glove box etc.
Leg room in this car is good and person sitting in the rear will not face any problem in leg room and head room. But yes there is one problem in the rear part and that is Floor board is not flat, so the person sitting in the middle of the rear seat will not feel comfortable.
Sound system of this car is average and Tiago even comes with the Harman system, so we expect something better from Maruti Suzuki.
In case of stability, car looses stability between the speed of 100 to 110 Kmph. Car is better for ios users as it supports apple car play but it does not support android auto. There is also Turbolag in Diesel variant and diesel engine is a bit noisy. After rooling the rear seats down, a little hump is present is the boot. Plastic quality is not great as hard plastic is used at many places.
The angular look of Baleno make the car design attractive but somehow it makes the visibility of the rear a little bit problematic. But this thing is not a big problem as we are having rear camera and sensors too.
As we are driving on long highways, rear seats are a little uncomfortable and reason behind this is that Baleno is giving somewhat soft suspension system in the rear seats. So the person sitting in the rear will feel tired in the long journey.
Diesel varient of this car is providing 1.3 L engine which is producing 74 PS power but in comparison to other brands of such segment in the market are providing 1.4 and 1.5 L engines. So somehow comparing to the other brands of such segment, Baleno is giving 1.3 L diesel engine and lacking behind.
So my overall appeal is to find some other and better option. Here I will not say name of any brand or car but this is not value for your money.
