Hay everybody.Mass-market, reliable, fuel efficient and cheap cars. Well not cheap but reasonably priced. These are the character traits that come to mind when you look at a Maruti Suzuki ‘S’ badge. You would rarely associate it with being premium or glamorous. Maruti has tried, multiple times, to have a shot at the premium segment. They’ve never really been able to shake off their existing image. Case in point, the Kizashi. At around 17 lacs, the only thing deterring people was the badge. A similar story with the Grand Vitara. The S-Cross too is placed at a high premium. It saw a decent opening but numbers have been falling consistently. Maruti has learnt its lesson after the whole Nexa-S-Cross debacle and has priced the Baleno just above the Swift. The long length and wheelbase of the car have translated into huge space in the cabin as well as the boot.Premium features such as projector headlamps and daytime running lights. Dual Front Airbags, ABS & EBD(Anti-Lock Brakes & Electronic Brake Distribution) standard across all variants. Liquid Flow design works well. One of the better looking Maruti cars. Priced aggressively when compared to its competitors.
