Maruti Suzuki, a well renowned company launched mid segment hatchback named BALENO in back November 2015. The new Baleno is one of Maruti's most ambitious products and is the mainstay for Nexa channel at present, which is aimed at premium and upmarket customers. The Baleno — which carries a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.3-litre diesel variant with key safety features such as dual air bags and ABS as standard — was launched by Maruti on October 26 with an aggressive entry price of Rs 4.99 lakh(ex-showroom Delhi) for the entry petrol variant(this went up to Rs 5.11 lakh after a price hike earlier this month). The base diesel variant costs Rs 6.21 lakh. The Elite i20's base petrol variant costs Rs 5.36 lakh, while the diesel version comes for Rs 6.47 lakh.
I have taken test drive of new baleno and below here I am sharing my experience.
Pros:
1) best in mileage in its segment
2) offer More features than any of its rivals.
3) More premium single tone(black) interior.
4) key safety features(ABS with dual airbags) offered across all segments.
5) Automatic ac control starting from second segment
6) Cheaper than an of its rivals.
7) Lager storage and boot space.
8) Best suited for regular office employees and day to day usage.
Cons: while driving diesel variant I experienced somewhat lagg in pick up power but after it crosses 2000 rpm it floats in air. This is same problem with its rivals also. So not to worry about. However company said that they will launch a new diesel engine.
This is the first car that maruti suzuki is shipping its units to japan.
Maruti Suzuki sold 10, 572 Baleno in December compared to 10, 379 Elite i20 by Hyundai, numbers released by industry body Siam showed. In November, Maruti sold 9, 074 Baleno as against 10, 074 Elite i20 by Hyundai.
Inspite of purchasing alpha model one can opt for zeta if the buyer is not kneen of day time running led lights. zeta model packs almost all the features except connectivity of apple mobile car music player system and daytime running led lights.
buyers thinking of buying i20, figo or jazz should also have a look at baleno but you have to wait for booking to buy this car.
