Adding one more Camshaft ( DOHC Dual Over Head Camshaft ) engines does not however mean that the car is reliable.. The predecessor (old Alto) has only Single Camshaft (SOHC Single Over Head Camshaft) engines which is still in the market with large number of satisfied customers........By installing DOHC Engine the Horses and Cubic Capacity has automatically increased to 21PS ( Horses) 200CC respectively as compared to the older one 47 PS/ 800 CC. Now the New alto equipped with 68 PS / 1000 CC making it more powerful in its segment....Lets see..!!..DOHC engines are ment only for the bigger cars and yes they are doing best in the Indian car market.. but, this is for the first time in India a hatch back is now with DOHC. People if we get the overwhelming response from the customers then this is the best car available ever made by Maruti Suzuki..
