I purchased the alto lx in dec 2005 and so far no problems. I get approx mileage of around 16 without AC. Never tested with AC . What changes I would suggest Maruti Suzuki to do would be to make the horn little more powerful . I doubt if the person drving in the front can hear me honking.
I get an excellent service from the dealers here. I have tested out the services of 2 dealers Varun Motors and Mitra agencies both equally good.
The best part of the vehicle is a very short U turn and immediate pickup. Gears get very smooth once the 4th services are completed.
The people purchasing this car I would suggest to go with Mud Flaps to protect the Engine during rainy days. Foot Mats . Also to protect the Bonnet you get a Iron Guard that would protect the Bonnet and the Wheel if you experience Head on Collision.
I would fully recommend anyone planning to buy small car.
