I am rewriting the review on Alto Lxi almost after about 8 months of using it!

Pros

Very good AC and is effective within a few minutes

Excellent mileage on highways

Easy to maneuver with power steering

Good looks, at least from front side!

Cons

With AC on you need to press the accelerator hard to gain more speed

Gearshift makes lot of noise and you can hear large sounds like ‘khat khat’ when changing gears.

The vehicle jerks at low speeds when you remove the foot from accelerator paddle.

While driving overall you feel like the vehicle does not have much of power (800 CC engine)

I got a problem of increase in engine RPM after pressing clutch/break at slow speeds in the beginning when the vehicle was new..(refer the first review below) which is now rarely noticed

This is my first car. I liked its shape and compact size. While the car overall is good..I have some weird observation.

This is something I never thought would happen. Engine races when clutch  break is applied and car is brought to a stop! This happened even though I did not step on the accelerator.

I typically noticed it a few times when I bring the slow moving vehicle to a stop in the reverse gear.

Car does not have a tachometer; else I could have confirmed the increase in engine RPM. The sound is exactly same as if you are in neutral and press the accelerator.

I did ask for checking this during the first servicing but no convincing response.

I am not convinced with this behavior.  Has any one ever faced any such a thing or is it that my Alto is the only odd one in a lot!!
