I got this Alto two months before and have now decided to write a review on this.
This car has a 800 CC Engine though not a powerful one but is a capable one. As long as I have driven the car in the city as well as in the Highway it has been fantastic. its AC is Excellent , it cools the cabin within no time.The initial pick up of the car is good and lags when you have switched on your AC. The AC Compressor draws its power from the Engine so the pick up of the car gets dropped when the AC is switched on. The Noise level from the engine was initally there when I got this car from the show room then I understood that in all the new cars the engine noise existed however after the first month service it got reduced when enquired and cross checked I understood since it was a new car it was like that.
The car has a digital fuel indicator and also you have options to check your mileage also. The duel dashboard is good. The Look of the car is definetely good. I have a Fire Brick Red Colour. The car from the show room doesnt have your bumper front and back painted however you can paint them by paying approximately 4500 ruppes in the Show Room. The Most important one is the ICats system, this car comes with the ICats system(security system). The car starts with the orginal keys only that is, it has a chip inside the keys when you switch on the car the microprocessor in the car checks if the car key code matches or not. Only then the car starts else otherwise the car doesnt gets started.
There is no central locking in this car, hence you have to manually lock every door each time when you leave the car in outside however you can install a remote lock with an central lock in it externally.
The Dashboard, Glove boxes are all plastic inside to reduce the cost of the car. The interior of the car are Good when compared to the cost of the car. The car is spacious when compared to other cars of this segment.
I took the car in the highway the very next day I got it from the show room and travelled around 550 KMS, it gave an mileage of 19-20 KMPL. Inside the city it gave me around 15 KMPL (50% AC Switched On) which is definetely an advantage for this car.
If you budget is any where between 3 to 3.5 lacs you can defintely go for this car. This car would definetely suit for a family of four people. it does pretty much good in terms of performance. The Leg room in the front is Good and in the back it is comparatively Good.The Brakes of the car are power Assisted brakes however not that powerful as that of the Santro or such segment cars but it is Good enough.The Power steering is really good you can turn the car in a very short radius and is very easy to drive especially in high traffic areas. The Head lights are really good that you can take car any where any time in highways. It also has got Tubeless Tyres.
Overall the Car is Excellent.
