*From

Proud Owner of Alto LXi*

*To

All who expect to buy a medium sized family car*

*Dear All,

I am very eager to tell you about my story of purchasing my second car, a Maruti Alto LXi.

To begin with, I was a proud owner of a white Maruti Suzuki Zen, 1995 model, KL-01-F-9559. Now that car, to be frank, drove *

me 75000 kms with a lot of memories left behind. Me and my girlfirend have shared a lot of memories in that car, and we got

happily married afterwards. Also I and my sister learnt driving in that car. One family friend of ours took the time and risk

to give us some initial lessons and we learnt it the hard way. One funny incident I remember was my sister's face to face

encounter with a huge rock, that created a dent in the front bumper which remained with it till the time we sold it. But it

gave us the benefit of easily identifying our zen among the crowd ofcourse. Well, it was a sweet car, rather spacious, good

looking, good mileage since it was running on LPG since turning 15000 kms and cost me approx 1.5 to 1.75/litre of LPG

compared to 2 to 2.5/litre of petrol. Very reliable car it was until 2 or 3 years back when it started showing signs of old

age. I knew it was time to say goodbye to my trusty old mate but somehow or the other it was to be with me for those 2 to 3

*years and I was somehow forced to maintain it, spending around 1000rs on the average every month on repairs.

Finally Onam came, the time for giving the old and getting the new. Now when I heard about the 10000 exchange offer *

for buying an Alto, a thought crept into me to exchange my car but later I was carried away with other affairs and dint put

much thought into it. One morning, a person from Indus Motors called me and told me about the exchange offer for my old car.

I was referred to him by my uncle who was in the automobile business. So I told him to just come and have a loook at my car,

not having the slightest idea I would be selling my car off to him in a weeks time. Later on when I got to know that I was

being offered 95000 for my old car, it sounded like a good bargain especially since I had spent some money for alloy wheels

and tubeless tyres etc on my old car and especially since I felt bad when I was offered only 75000 the previous year. So that

evening I thought of telling my family members about it, they were hesitant about it. But I and my uncle convinced them about

the repairs and cost of maintenance for the old one and how much we were offered for our old car etc, they gave in. But then

I had to go and enquire about the price everywhere I could think of since getting atleast 1000 more from anywhere else would

be like getting more that the actual value of the car. Popular Motors offered me 1 lakh, Sarathy motors offered me 85000,

Hercules offered me 75000. So finally I decided to stick with Indus who gave me an irresistible offer of 1, 00, 000 for my old

car plus exchange bonus of 10, 000 plus another 10, 000 discount offer on the new car. The new Alto LXi cost 3, 16000 on road,

*and I got it for 1, 96000 after exchange. Now wasn't that an offer or what?

Now to talk about the car, its simply marvellous.*

Ok guys, so you all want me to write more on my Alto. Well, now that I have travelled almost 3500 kms on my new Alto, I can guarantee you that the car will very well get your needs satisfied, whether its for daily use like me to go to and fro your office and for other shopping and stuff with family, or to satisfy your long destination travels whether to your hometown 100 kms away  or to some distant tourist destination. I went for two pleasure trips with family, one was to kodai and the other to the thriparappu waterfalls, both in my Alto and at both times I got the pleasure to drive my Alto, and I want to be honest to say that I was not that worn off after the journey since the superb A/c kept the climate inside really cool even though it was burning hot outside and the power steering also gave me a smooth driving comfort along curves and junctions. There were four of us for kodai trip and for thripaprappu there were five persons. Ofcourse its a lil bit crampy for the backseaters. But even then they all had no complaints after the journeys.  There was no breakdowns, no tyre problems, no topups and for those of you who are waiting to hear about the mileage, I got a rather good mileage of 15 kms with full A/c. Everyone is saying its a great small car for a small family.

My Alto went through her first free service at 1600 kms and I am happy to say that the maruti service went real smooth. No wonder they enjoy a remarkable market share. Noone else can give you such smooth service and low maintenance cost for their cars. Along with the free service, I was adviced by the service technician to spent around 1000 rs. for getting the inside of all four doors oil coated. This is a must to enusre that the doors won't get rusted  or cracked inside if for any chance water gets inside from rain etc. There is a 3 year guarantee for this. Also I forgot to mention that I have given her till now two full body washes at the water service station since the time I bought her. Now I have decided to make this a routine habit and not make the mistake of keeping my car all dirty for long, since I was a little careless about this on my old Zen and she got rusted and old pretty soon.  Now my Alto is getting ready for her big second free service at 5000 kms. Will keep you guys updated.
