My first impression on the ride quality of this car is far better than spark. I decided on buying this and got it delivered on 2nd of January 09.

Have completed 1150kms on the odo.

I am back with few interesting information on Astar.

Pros:

1) Performace is very good and does not feel sluggish

2) Frot seats are comfortable and steering feel is good.

3) Small turning radius and good road grip on speeds above 80kmph(Did not test top speed yet)

4) Mileage seems to be good (Around 17 -18) roughly based on the digital fuel gauge reading. (Have not tested it tank full to tank full method).

5) Looks, Sure a head turner.

6) Ground Clearance is really big for indian roads.

7) Gear shift is very sporty (Exactly like swift).

Cons:

1) Rear seat comfort : Not at all comfortable for taller people.

2) Small vibration is present when the engine is in Idle speed (Has consulted the Maruthi dealer , says its common in 3 cylinder engine)

3) Engine is a bit noisy in First Gear (Only in First Gear , remaining gears are smooth)

3) Boot Space is really low. (Less luggage space)

4) Rear window screen has a partition which obstructs the vision of the occupants.

Hope these information will be helpful for readers who are willing to buy A-Star.

Updated on 06/Dec/2009Iam getting an mileage of 17.85/ litre Mileage on Average.... with 30% City Driving.

Apart form that I dont see any change in performance and driving comfort its as new as when I bought one year back.

Updated on 15/Jun/2010Best Mileage achieved 28.31

YesterdayI drovethe car in NH7 over 300Kms , I was trying my luck to get the maximum out of my A-star in mileage front. I filled up the tank till the brim and reset my trip meter and drove till 283.1 and tried filling my car again to tank full (again to brim level) It consumed exactly 9.98 Litres of petrol . Just thought of sharing it among A-star owners.

Think it was great seeing close to 30Kmpl mileage.

Driving Conditons :

Used NH47 throughout the journey.

Less traffic, so less braking and gear changes.

Speed not exceeding 60kmph(Took 5.5hrs total to travel this distance)

total of only 4 speed humps on the way.

Waiting time in 4 toll gates on the way ( 5 mins max - idling)

No speeding while overtaking slow moving vehicles also.

Note: For the past 6 months I am using the vehicle inside the city only with congested traffic, itmanaged to give only 15Kmpl on every refill.

Regards,
