This is my first car. Bought it 7 months ago. Never driven much before that, but this car has made me feel driving. And that despite driving to office daily in the'traffic-haven' city of Bangalore.

I had a strict budget in mind while looking for a car. budget in terms of an upper limit and not value for money. Had no idea of what to look for in a car. In hindsight, boot space and rear seating are probably two things to note, but well back then I didn't think too hard on these.  I also had no clue about the technical details - engine quality, make and type, gears, braking, etc.etc.

My choice was purely budget driven and also for the sheer  strength and convenience of after sales service/replacements I wanted a Maruti Suzuki.

A-star I knew promised the best in class mileage. I knew the car shaped up well. It was a straight choice. I didn't even test drive it.

In 7months I love the feel. and thats an understatement. Got to go half clutch for quite a while in Bangalore, but when u can let the clutch go and accelerate and shift gears, she is fun. Even that moment when u just let the clutch go, and accelerate in the first gear. For that part of me still looking for economy, it gives 17 km pl within the city.

Never driven much before I bought her, and am a real novice at driving, but now I cant just stop reading car reviews and comparing specs. Man and particularly the cars that you would think are not just efficient machines that optimize value for money, but give you a feel. Cant help thinking about the Mahindra Classic, the true blood SUVs and the like. What I am saying is this car has transformed my perspective on driving. Dont know if other cars can do this, but she has.

The clutch does take a little getting used to, but trust me thats immaterial. And those who ignore this car because of the rear seating and boot space alone, well sure hope they don't have regrets.

At least I am glad I was not guided by stringent criteria while making a choice. To think of it I really did not choose A-star, it just landed in my lap as a choice. And am I glad that happened.

She's worth it.  If you don't really care too hard about a lot.It will only be about you and her, and they don't really matter.
