Recently I read a article by kumar about the quality of brakes in Maruthi 800. I totally agree with him.i would say maruthi 800 as a whole is a good engineered car with a major flaw in the braking system.
i have a 2007 Maruthi 800 (MPFI Model) and till now I have clocked 27000 kms, I have not spent any penny on the maintenance part except for the regular service. the only drawback I see in this car is the poor braking systems, especially during the rainy days it is very very horrible. I have complained this to the dealer and I was told that it is a expected behavior of 800 since it does not have vacuum assisted braking system, I wonder that how a word class car manufacturer like suzuki can pass a car with such a poor quality braking system to the consumers.
I am sure that maruthi would have got this feedback from many of the 800 customers about the the poor quality brakes and I am surprised why they have not done anything to rectify this defect. What is the pride in possessing the Japanese technology if they cannot address implicit requirements like good quality braking system.
