Common man's car. Review on Maruti Suzuki 800

I starter my career as a car owner with a couple of second hand cars. I am basically a Mechanical Engineer, and I love the vehicle I own. I look after the vehicle as another addition to the family and it receives the same care and love. But after owning a second hand car for about 12 years, I came to a conclusion that in spite of all the devoted love and care, a second hand car is a second hand car. What I mean is, with all the care you have taken on your car, there is still a doubt when it would breakdown, that too, on a long drive in a strange godforsaken place. Hence, it dawned on me that enough is enough and I wanted to go in for a new car. Being a salaried employee in the middle income group, I had very limited choice of cars to choose from. I put all my previous experience about cars and also my academical knowledge and decided to go in for Maruti 800 DX model (with five forward gears and AC). It is 5 years now since I purchased the vehicle and not a moment I have regretted its purchase. My experience about Fuel Efficiency on Highway is 21 Kms per Litre with technically sound driving habit, which is more than what official description says about fuel efficiency. It is a pity that this DX Model has been stopped by Maruti, because, this wan one car with good technical specifications and had good fuel efficiency because of the five forward gears, which reduces the torque load on the engine in the fifth gear.

Overall, it is really good, trustworthy, trouble-free, economical vehicle for a middle income group of people.
