True to the title I had given, this is my third love, first my wife, then my kid and my maruti 800 the third. Though I had plans to get a car for a long time, all of a sudden I booked M800 within two days and the very next two days on delivery of the vehicle, I had a purpose to travel around 600 kms. I even did not know how to drive a vehicle and hired a driver who told me that since the vehicle is new, it should not cross 60kmph until it reaches 2000 kms.

I subsequently learned to drive in this car only and now I hope the control of my car has come to my hands and quite comfortably able to ride my machine in the busy streets of Chennai.

Regarding the vehicle, indeed it is a fantastic vehicle, as I said it is user friendly, and I believe tht this should be first car if one would like to upgrade himself from two wheeler to four wheeler. A lovely machine for a family of four, if it is self driven. The gears are smooth, no extra sound, keeps going. It also allows some rash driving, though not advisable. I am an amateur driver and I learnt driving only four months back in my own new maruti without going to any classes. I have now driven my vehicle for around 6000 kms single handedly through the busy streets of Chennai and on national highways. All these I am telling because, it is so user friendly.

Well coming to its advantages, gears are smooth, easy handling and one main thing is I get good access of the corners of my vehicle and this gives me good road visibility. I find that the AC is not that cooling and also the fan's sound when AC is on is little disturbing. To add beauty to the machine, the company could have given the left side mirror along with the wheel couplings which would add only a few thousand along with the price of the vehicle.

Service is also good, but need some stringent measures to extract work from the service dealer, else he would deliver us the vehicle after five hours and without showing us the vehicle and without informing us whether our complaints were attended to, he would ask us to sign the acceptance letter and humbly request us to take the vehicle. On after two or three kms after taking delivery from the service centre, we would come to senses, none of our complaints had been attended but only water washed and cleaned. Then finally when I got an opportunity to give my feedback directly to Maruti, I put all these facts into it and in a month's time, one service engineer stepped into my home to look into the defects.

The service of Maruti is good, but not the service of the dealer which if we are careful will be good. The vehicle has got good speed, good braking, free clutches, and is a class in its range, no doubt. I definitely feel Maruti will repent for stopping M800 production. I hope the day is not too far.

This should be taken care of.

Rest I simply love this car

Dear friends

I would like to continue my review after a long time.  I remember saying in my previous review that I would review again after having an opportunity to have a long ride.  I had one recently.  I along with my friends went for a drive running to 2400 kms in 7 days, out of which, the first day took 500 kms, second day 500 kms, third day 300 kms, sixth day 650 kms (at a stretch), 7th day 340 kms.

The road was from pondicherry to goa, enroute onward journey was pondicherry, bangalore, tumkur, shimoga, kollur (moogambigai temple), baindur, murdeshwara, karwar, and enter goa.  spend time in goa for three days and the return journey was from goa via old goa, enter karnataka state nearby to hubli without touching it (the road was through western ghats - touching the top most point of the western ghats with full of midst visibility only for 10 meters) chitradurga, tumkur, bangalore pondicherry.

The road from shimoga to kollur is of course a dangerous road, but still with little driving skils can manage to drive, but the car need to co-operate.  The only non-cooperation of a maruti 800 is it will not stop to our wish while travelling in speeds of more than 90 kmpl.   Should be careful in that speed, but the vehicle goes more than 120 kmph in the highways at our own risk.  The point is it goes that speed without any probs.  The road from goa to karnataka border  was through western ghats and the vehicle managed to go through the ghats with full weight in it, our luggage on the luggage carrier, and five people amounting to 350 kgs minimum.  Imaging the load the card had, it went with ease.

There is no match to this car and I simply love this car.  I had already told in my previous review and I reiterate tht maruti udyog will realise one fine day for stopping this cute maruti 800
