I had been to M&S store yesterday afternoon. The sales girl (Kavya) would first say 'no' before checking what I asked for. I had to find the things myself. And the sizes were available. I bought a trouser which needed alteration. I was told it could be delivered the next day as the tailor was not there or not well or something like that. I am fine with that. I understand things take time. I was given a delivery slip.
Today I went there at 4pm. I was informed that the tailor is on his way and I should wait. I asked them to return my money as I was not going to wait for their tailor. I wanted my money returned so I could leave their store. The sales girl and boy kept saying '1 second' , the manager is coming. They have no clue what '1 second' means. They made me wait 20 minutes in spite of me asking repeatedly what was happening.
Then - the clincher. [Please see the delivery slip for proof: I have attached the soft copy of the original delivery slip.] The Manager comes, ( a slimy looking fair guy with a cleft - don't know his name) holding my altered trouser and had the audacity to say the alteration slip says 6 pm. So they are blameless and I am creating a fuss for no reason. THEY HAD OVER WRITTEN ON THE DELIVERY SLIP. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT??!!
They had changed the time from 2 pm to 6 pm, clearly visible on the delivery slip - see uploaded copy. Kavya also came in for the attack supporting her manager. I cant believe this is how they treat their customers. And I cant believe Managers have started LYING SO SHAMELESSLY. It was the norm for maid servants, plumbers etc to lie but a so-called educated manager at M&S???? Seriously??? Is this the standard of our country? DO we have no morals at all? He did not have any problem lying to my face. And he wanted to keep the delivery slip, but I told him I want to use it, and he couldn't care less!!!
I know this is India, I know 'anything goes', I know we expect and accept lower standards after paying double the price... BUT SERIOUSLY.... THIS LOW????
