Yesterday I bought mapmyindia ZX 250 for rs 12, 800/- only (Yes its on 20% discount, and these people are reluctant to offer you unless you insist). The salesman was half interested and half knowledgeable about the product, so dont rely on them (The antenna of my system was told to me by my salesman as a stylus:)).
Since he was my captive audience, he had no choice but to demonstrate every capability of the device. What I liked? 1. It can be connected to a car stereo through FM and the voice navigation is through car speakers. 2. it can connect with your Phone bluetooth and acts as a Handsfree device for your phone. 3. The directions (In Delhi atleast) are accurate, I have been going to office by a longer route, it was able to knockoff a kms from my route:) 4. The GUI is pleasing and not heavy on eyes. It even has a 3D display. 5. It locks on to the sattlelites faster (You can only compare, if you have used other gps navigators), so far I was relying on my phone GPS or ACTIVEPILOT (bluetooth gps device). 6. Screen size (5 inches I guess) 7. It can be iterated with a reverse camera, if you have installed one.
What I DID NOT Like? 1. Touch screen too cumbersome and NON Responsive.
- The typing pad requires very slender and petite fingers as mine are too big for it I guess. I ended up typing the wrong letters each time (I am use to very sensitive smartphones so I guess its wrong to compare).
My advise - If you keep forgetting roads and travel a lot, then go for it. You will be glad that you did, because not only you will save money on fuel by taking wrong turns, but also become knowledgeable about the nearby areas. It even has an option of pinging when you approach a restaurant, tourist attraction, etc. I am happy as of now!!!
