We have booked a tour of Amarnath Yatra for a group of 18 persons. the package includes Helicopter tickets. the tour was confirmed three months in advance and the advance was paid before the booking of helicopter tickets commenced. I had been speaking to the management for the three months and was enquiring about the helicopter tickets. all along they assured that everything will be taken care of. when I insisted for soft copy of tickets, I was told that it will be handed over when we arrive at Srinagar. on the day we arrived at Srinagar, we were told that the tickets would be issued at Sonmarg. on the day of our journey, we were given tickets for 13 persons and a recommendation letter for the remaining 5. we were advised to produce the letter at the booking counter for tickets and we were made to stand in the line. No one cared for the letter and despite standing in the line for more than 12 hours, tickets were not issued. only half of the group could go and those 5 people for whom the tickets were not booked and their family members could not go. The management who boast themselves as powerful persons in Srinagar miserably failed in fulfilling the commitment and never bothered to call us to inquire about the status. except making the junior level staff to apologize. Had they been transparent and told us the truth, we would have made changes in the itinerary so that those who did not get tickets would visit the shrine on foot or pony. Entire time money(nearly 2 lakhs) and effort of the persons have simply gone waste due to the indifferent and high handed behavior of the Management
