I would like to write my experience about Mansukhbhai Kothari National School(Formerly known as Kothari National and in middle of term one fine day they decided to change the name.)
First I would highlight the issues and then explain my experience with each of these point:
High Charges for School Stationary and no discount. No monitoring by school authority on prices charged by vendor.
Poor Quality of School notebook and Almanac book which was charged very high. Later on they took it back and tried patching it!
School uniform fee is very high and only one vendor which doesn't give good service and charges very high for the quality of clothing used.
No explanation on Annual Fee charged. As they anyhow charge seperately for each activity/ photos/cd/ day trip etc.
No waiting room/place for parents coming to pick up their children. And although there is place to make the shade, but they are not ready to do the same.
I know other schools too might be having similar issue, but parents should know these small things and should take up to school and educational ministry. Now I would like to explain each of these above points with my experience.
- High Charges for Stationary: * For One class they charge pencil for Rs. 7 and another for Rs. 5 Just to round off the figure. Instead of giving Rs. 3 or Rs. 5 discount!. But I know some of these books were available in book fair held in same school and they offer discount or some free gifts on shopping of Rs. 300 or Rs. 500 onwards & accept by credit card which too gives 2% points atleast! So here even though we are purchasing worth Rs. 3700+ still they can't afford Rs. 3 discount?
Does anyone from school monitors this contract of book vendor?
Poor Quality of School Notebook:
The quality of Almanac book was so bad last year that, just after usage of a month all the pages came out. And many parents made the complaints and as a result they were forced to take it back . applied more glue to fix it and handed back the same book! Even if you consider drawing book which is charged at Rs. 27 is not having good quality paper, instead Navneet has same price but the quality of paper of Navneet is too good!(This is just an example and same thing applies for rest all notebook).
Uniform Fee is very High & Poor Service:
The quality of clothing is not upto the mark against the money which we pay. Does any one from school checks this and was any other vendor considered at all while selecting Pin-a-kin Garments? For exchange too they don't co-ordinate. We Stood for almost 2 hours in queue, and were told only bottom and shocks are available and you need to come to shop to get the top! Why they were called to school if they don't have enough stock. Who from school monitors this activity?
No explanation on Annual Fee:
They are charging annual fee of Rs. 12000 and now increased to Rs. 15000. Eventhough We have asked multiple times as what exactly is that. and breakup of it's usage and why it's seperate from tution fee? But it was told it's for extra activity. As they charge seperately for any activity like group photo/ event photo/ CD/ one day trip etc.! So ultimately the money which you pay as Annual Fee you don't get tax benifit under 80 C. The same was communicated to school last year but no gain till now!
No waiting space near school for parents:
There is no shade near the school. And parents coming to pick their children from school have to wait in sun/rain without any shelter. We have asked multiple times about it but still no luck with school management who don't want to spend a penny on convinence. Apart from these there are teachers who are good, but might be stuck in incapable administration.
