When you talk about a weekend getaway, what your are usually looking for is a tranquil place, where you can go to be by yourself or relax with your friends, & not have to worry about silly little things that plague your existence the rest of the week. So, what your looking for, when trying to choose that special weekend destination, is a place that will let you do all of those things. The Manori Resort is definitely not one of those places.
If someone were to ask me if I liked Manori, my answer would be a definite "Yes". But ask me about the place I stayed at during my weekend away with my friends, & I'd say "In all honesty, I'd like to burn the place down."
Now, if you're choosing to go there and conduct an extra-marital affair, the place would be most appropriate. We saw quite a few examples of this during our 2-day 1-night stay there - half-dressed women with disheveled hair, men with nothing on but a pair of boxer shorts, people being all touchy-feel right out in the open in view of all the other guests, creepy men (who'd just finished with their "women") leering at you while you use the pool, which seems to have been used for other purposes, if you know what I mean.
We'd phoned in to book our "cottage" for the 2 days & arrived there well before the 11 o'clock deadline. On arrival, on an exceptionally hot & humid day that had already tried our patience, we were informed that there would be additional charges, not for the 2 extra mattresses that they said we would need (which we didn't 'cause the bed was big enough & there was a nice long sofa), like other resorts would have charged, but for the 2 "extra" people about whom we'd already informed them over the phone & no mention of any additional charges had been made then. After been spoken to by the unruly manager like he was doing us a favour by letting us stay there, we were showed to our cottage, where the bedsheets looked like they'd just been slept in & looked thoroughly unhygienic. When I requested a change of sheets & pillow covers, I was subjected to scowling & grumbling. But being the stubborn person that I am, I refused to let them shirk at least this responsibility. So, we got new sheets which weren't much better than the earlier ones but I keep quiet.
The sea was glorious although used contraceptives were scattered all over the place & well as floating alongside us. We'd gone there for the sea so we had our fun.
When we got back, we were famished & ordered in food. But with the ridiculous prices & even more ridiculous serving sizes (enough for 1 person & there were 4 of us), we were definitely glad we have mothers who care about us enough to pack food for us (which of course was not allowed). All in all I'd say don't miss Manori but give the Manori Resort a definite miss...there are several other more viable options just next door.
