This hospital( Manipal) has good reputation because bearing same name in Mangalore, but it is not worth even a village govt hospital. Mgmt knows it better and uses the brand to exploit/loot/kill common people.I have been victim multiple times but still not able change since nearer to my location and everything under one roof. Best place to loose money and become pauper gracefully.
Beauty of this hospital is you never notice you are loosing money and getting fooled, because of sweet words from docs/all middle men( only if u give money) and stature of name/research they do etc.
all crowded makes to feel that it is most sought, but believe me everybody seeing there all fools
who are for repeated consultation/con practices.
if you are insurance patient, they all do billing irregularities like billing for scans which never done, charging twice for the same etc. I was fooled for charging brain scan which was never done. be careful checking the final itemized bill.
Had been to psychiatry dept. senior doc never checks, asks everything for junior docs. Also instead of finding root cause they feed all the medicines and every time come 7-10 days so that they can get more money . At last no results. They make you guinea pig for new medicines and take all unnecessary tests. I had simple thyroid problem for unexplained depression, my town doc diagnosed it in 100 rs and thyroid medicines cured all my problem. I had spent nearly 15000 in Manipal for this but end no results.
-Had been to pulmonary dept again no results just spend money every week.
-Skin problem, my town dermatologist diagnosed in 50 rs, these guys took 4000 rs to do the test and again the same thing; no result.
again some skin problem, blood test worth 7.5 k, my town doctor charged 80 rs and told the problem.
Bunch of crooks, admins/docs are all wired to fool patients and extract as money as possible.
For surgery no candidate selection, they can do surgery on dead people also if you give money. Totally irresponsible docs. They never discuss about complications, side effects etc only good things to sell "expensive surgery", when once trapped and blame everything except themselves when complications occur.Admins are so cheating to have surgery asap since doc is leaving for US/abroad etc. all fake. and may not be available next week. I spent lakhs on money surgery and end no result. they will discard you if surgery results are not good. you wont get follow up appointments also and surgeon even wont look at you. since India has poor regulation for botched surgery practices, hospital knows it fully and uses max.
-Also usually they quote very less for surgery initially and once you are trapped they will make hell lot of you.
All dept. are same, worst, have docs with good record/degrees but no results.
Choose govt hospital for the specialty and avoid this at all costs like neuro - nimhans, heart- jaydev skin- some good specialist etc.
Don't know about emergency etc but heard good ICU in Bangalore.
Known as the 'Money Pal' among people but now it is turning in to 'Death Pal'.
-believe me if this Hosp was outside India, it would have been locked immediately and docs/mgmt would be in jail. Most of them are white collar thieves/butchers . A road side thief has deterrence from common man/police to steal 10rs, since no regulations in India, these ppl ate having gud time.
- Inspite of ppl knowing all these visit this hospital, that is the beauty of this hospital.
