I have had one of the most horrible experience with Manipal hospital for the delivery of my wife. We were consulting with Dr. Vidya Desai - who is supposed to be the leading gynaec in city. She is attached to Manipal hospital and hence we decided to have our baby delivered there.
My wife delivered in hospital without anybody attending to her! Atrocious I would say. Luckily God was with us and we are safe.
Dr. Vidya came early morning at 4.30 to another patients delivery and went back without even checking on my wife who was on the verge of delivering. I dont undestand how can a doctor be so irresponsible towards her profession! My wife gave birth to our child 30 mins after Dr. Vidya left. She came back and checked on mother when all was over! The duty doctors are so pathetic( guess they are some students on internship!) - imagine they are placed in delivery room.
And for "NO SERVICE" they charged me 1 lakh rupees! Of which, dr.Vidya's fees was 50000/-
I would say Manipal hospital should rather be called "Money"- pal.
