My mother-in-law had slightly less haemoglobin and she was asked to do 5000/- worth additional tests "just to be safe". And when the report came few days later, the health-checkup folks asked to come next week when the doctor who suggested the test is on duty, just to check the report and suggest recourse.
I go to Manipal for the hospital sake and dont even know the "duty doctor" who takes care of health checkups on that day. When I pleaded, they asked me to wait. But after an hour, when I checked, they said they can check the report only after the reports of all the patients who are dong the test on that day have come and patient consultations are over(which would take additional 3 hours easily).
It was clear that the duty doctor on that day did not even want to look at the report for the test suggested by some other doctor because(s)he is not going to get the commission for the test anyways.
I wish the staff attitude improves:(
