It took four years to make this film!!! What was in this film, which took them four years?

What does Aamir Khan think? By getting a mane of his own hair and an authentic mustache he can ‘get into the character’ of mangal pandey…. He is Aamir Khan throughout the film irrespective of what he was doing and trying to be. Why at all was there a need for introducing a mujra in the film? Rani Mukherjee is doing nothing in the film but trying to show her big brown kohl rimmed eyes and her big busts! There is completely no need for showing sati pratha? Amisha Patel just has a demented look throughout the film and has nothing to do. It appears the filmmaker wanted to include some sex scenes in the film and that’s why she was included….

Two and a half hour of complete trash! Music is not even worth listening once. What has happened to all these people? Who are they fooling? There are just two hair raising patriotic and worth watching scenes in the whole of the film. The narration by Om Puri gives it a full history lesson look. The only good part in the whole film and the only ‘real’ character is that of William Gordon (played by Tony Richards). That character had emotions to portray. Be it friendship, his love for his country and love towards the country he is living, everything has been portrayed with élan. He is the only good part in this trashy over hyped saga of a real hero. The whole passion, which drove one man to start something that finally led to what we are today, is absolutely absent. This is another disappointing film in the whole line of disappointing films on the block these days.
