One of the worst experience we had yesterday with a reputed bar in mumbai, manchester united, infiniti mall malad.
A couple of days back I went to this place to find out some estimate on organizing a small party for our office(on of the top American bank's) event and I was given an estimate by the head chef and the facility in charge Mr.Abhijit Raikar based on which we communicated the plan to the associates in our organization and everyone were really excited.
Once finalized when we went to pay the advance money and these folks just backed out saying that the per head cost provided is exclusive of tax and were charging us a lot more then. When I started explaining them about our conversation they agreed to giving the earlier deal but then were very adamant on the duration/food and drinks choices...which they were flexible earlier. After this conversation we walked out cancelling the deal with them and they started calling us later that night around 11.00 pm to close the deal with us and because they were really sorry about what they did we agreed to go to their place, another reason why we agreed as the event was planned on next day and we had communicated the venue etc to everyone in the office.
As if the torture was not enough more was in store for us when we visited there.
Both head chef and the manager incharge were missing when we went there, they made us wait for snacks for about one hour and the duration given to use was only 2 hours, they kept mentioning while we were there - that the food is ready and just has to be served up. But that never happened to the point where it was plain embarrassing to ask the waiter repeatedly for snacks and drinks. This was a very cheap trick that they were playing, without understanding the gravity of the situation and the importance of offending the customers. I think the idea was to serve less and let the time pass....not only this the mocktails they gave us were not even part of the menu and was plain soda/water with ice and some kind of a flavor or apple etc. Very cheap of them to treat the customers in this fashion.
What I strongly feel is that there is no professional attitude among the staff and somehow the incharge feels that customer opinions don't matter and it does not make any difference as MANU is such a big brand. I think he is forgetting that it is we the customer who make them big. With such attitude they are surely not going to be big....
I would strongly recommend choosing anything else if there is an option within the vicinity.
As it is, the MANU brand is overrated and this further proves that they have only the glamour without commitment to customer service.
