As I am writing this review, 11 pm on the roof top of my hotel( with my best pal, old lappy with terrible net connection), my hands are trembling.Its so Cold out here.! nd its mid of the march with most of north india already burning with heat god.
Now why Poor:
Job people are always poor.thts what I feel.Being a traveloholic adds to your miseries.It was a holi break nd we 2 people decided to spend our vacations somehwere in himalayas.With little less than 20000 Rs, it was a hard decision.Those who know me here that I had been to kerala the previous month nd the cash pot ws virtually empty.I then decided to call up my travel company Antilog Vacations & a surprise was awaiting.
Cost
They arranged the whole trip including return AC Volvo frm Delhi, 3 star Hotels, bkfst, Dinner, sightseeing, rohtang & solang valley trip . a 6 day all inclusive trip for 15000!.Moreover, the bookings were done on the same day! It ws like I called in morning & was on the Volvo at evening with all vouchers in my hand.
Now, I don't like to promote anyone here but these Antilog Vacations guys are really good.They r low cost, honest & full value for money.
Positives
The beauty of the manali starts before even you get down, the road is so pictureseque.Little monkies, langoors nd all tht stuff.I have so much to say bt lemme summarise
Its nt crowded like other hill stations
It is the only viable place(after kashmir) to see Snow.
Good hotel bookings are full well ahead in season 9May, June)
Rohtang Pass - History+ Snow+ Ideal Booze point
Mall Road- Nothin special
Manikaran- Ok ok
Food - awwwwwwwesomeee. specially Pahadi Raita & Safed Murgh ki biryaani.
AVOID
Tour guides & local dwellers
Crappy sightseeing( Lover's point.pheww.heard it umpteenth time)
Bring ur sweaters, SHOPPING is nt cheap
]-Too much adventurism with steepy hills
Playing Cricket with Locals on this playground.Air is light & you may breathe heavy after few balls( at least I did)
Driving thru ur own vehicle.It is nt at all advisable as the terrain is very steepy.VOLVO is the safest & most comfortable option.
Gotta sleep now, Can't write more.Tmw ll catch a volvo back.Day after its Holi.:)
