We were late till we selected out destination for long drive in first rain. Finally we decided for Malshej Ghat.
Way to Malshej:
Left home(Mumbai) at 1.30 p.m took Thane road, then take Nashik highway till Kalyan. Then take a left for shahapur st depo (check for this one before getting on another flyover). As soon as you take left in 1 min. time there is a right below the flyover. Take that right move straight and check for Saral Gav (30 kms.). It’s a good scenic drive to reach saral gav.
We didn’t find any sign of Malshej Ghat anywhere till the end. The road condition is all maintained, we found just a patch of road with big holes which is after Murbad otherwise the entire road is smooth and scenic driving. Lots of plots developed as farmhouse. Once you are at Saral Gav, you will find 2 turns - take a left for Murbad to reach Malshej another turn i.e right goes to Kalyan.
Keep Moving straight once you take left. After 3 kms. you will also find a petrol pump at your right hand (incase anyone needs its). It was drizzling when were at Murbad. Blessed with rain God, which was too heavy for some 4 kms. As we its just 1st week of June and the rain is just started, we didn’t find any waterfalls. But with moonson its extraordinary charm of rain the road and around areas were looking beautiful and scenic.
Took a halt in between for snacks and photograph.
Unfortunately could not reach Malshej which was just few kms. Away as there was a trailor accident and little space for other vehicles to move. As we had our kid with us and our basic motive was for a long drive in rain which was successful and enjoyable so didn’t take much risk and took a U Turn for Mumbai.
As it was 5.00 p.m this time we choosed to take Kalyan road. The Murbad – Saral Gav road is good to drive in day time as we didn’t find any lamp post anywhere. So from Murbad just go straight for Sahad then Kalyan and move ahead for Home Sweet Home we nice enjoyable driving. At Sahad mostly one will find traffic jam. Which we can ignore after such a smooth driving J
