Actors

I have always believed that an actor is one who show their talent by acting, but some recent movies define actors as people (specially women) who display their skin. Acting makes the actor well known for being an actor. Think of ladies who act, and you think of Nargis, Madhubala, Nutan, Smita Patil, Shabana Azmi, Madhuri Dixit, Kajol, Rani Mukharji etc. to name a few.

Others in This Category

Think of skin show and something close to panting/sex-passion/fore-play show and you vaguely remember a Kimi kloth-Katkar (of Tarzan), Mamta Kula-Kulkarni (where did they disappear after a few, probably 2-3 movies?) and recently Mallika who-Sherawat (because this is not her name at all) and Neha-kya-Dhupia. Does anyone put them in the actor category or admire them for any wonderful acting performance? NO! They are admired for all the very wrong reasons being in the actor category!

This is exactly what separates the two set of actors. One set who display their talent on the screen for the people and the other set who displays their bare body for the world to see, and say that ''if you have it flaunt it''! Can anyone retain as an actor for a long time by just exposing one’s body without any acting skills? They can pant, pout, smooch, do 100's of lip-locked kisses and then justify that it is because the script, audience, director, producer, etc., demands it. Is a good body to be displayed or exposed to the public? Is this called modernism?

Mallika-who-Sherawat...

... as an actor Mallika is vulgar to the core---in her approach, in her talks, in her actions, in her movies (top to bottom). Some may feel that Mallika is ''hot and sexy'' but the same people may not respect her as a woman. A women can be hot and sexy, without shedding her clothes, with out panting 60 times a minute or pouting 360 times an hour. She can be sensous by just being normal. Thats a sexy woman! A woman who can ooze sensuality in a saree without deliberately displaying flesh is a sexy and sensuous woman! The others are those who try hard to appear sexy and end up looking vulgar!

Bipasha Basu has done similar movies, but that woman did it with a touch of class. Though it is not the kind of movie I would ''enjoy'' watching, I should truthfully say that she looked sensual, not vulgar and gross as Mallika has been in her movies (and otherwise too)!

... as a person Mallika is a person who lied about her very identity.

Name --- Who is Mallika? Who is Sharawat? Her father? Her husband? neither. It is a randomly picked up name.

Origin --- She has called herself as a chote shar ki mamuli ladki. May be she is chote shar ki ladiki, but her father has been (or still is) an army officer. Now, I do not have to describe the general lives of an army officers life. She even said in one of the TV shows that she comes from a family where in women are considered as bhains (buffaloes). Army officers are civilised enough to treat their women well (at least I think so).

Schooling --- she has mentioned that she is from a small school. DPS is not a small school. It is a well known group of schools. Infact in an article, one of Ms Mallika's teacher said, ''As a child too she used to lie a lot, and she used to lie with conviction.'' That shows that Ms Mallika is a liar to the core.

Marriage --- She supposedly eloped with a person (airforce officer?) and married him against the will of her parents. Then she left him to join the film industry. Sounds to be a very calculated move on her part.

Call me conservative, call me hypocrite, call me an old minded woman, but is this going to lead us anywhere in the name of liberlization? What are these women liberating? Their bodies, the sexual fantasies of people? If this is liberation, do we actually want liberalization? And what is Mallika---a pack full of lies.

If Ms Mallika justifies her movies, lets wait and watch if she will be able to watch her movies with her kids. If she does, it would probably teach them the funda of human anatomy (or mamma's anatomy) and human (or mamma's) passion!
