I find this book quite unlike "Inscrutable Americans", at least you could find some humor there..this book starts with comical note. But takes unreasonable drift from comic to a serious labor problom .
This is a story of a industrialist Ram Avtar Kapoor, who is a mill owner, Chris is his American collaborator..everything is running smooth then a labour union leader Prabal Kumar comes forward and announces a strike, his demands are so loathsome that there is a threat to the owners of industry for total collapse. They meet minister, who gives a deaf ear to their problems. Chris is made offer to become a mediator for forcing Kapoors to change their business line. Here he starts seeing unusual things like repeat name of 'Mian Shankar Aiyer' in several places. He is in grip of psychosis fear. Chris and his friend Ajayvir finds simple solution to eliminate their rival Prabal Kumar, they try to contact a contract killer. But their scheme fails. They are at the verge of lock out their industry then a miracle happens and minister actually smiled.Every problem comes to an end.
In this story line Anurag could have done more justice with his characters rather than going total dramatic and most of the time he goes off the track, he has become over dramatic by painting Kaplana’s character, who is unusually freak bindass female. In my view, India is still not that advance..if a girl goes for sex, there must be an emotional attachment. What did he want to prove showing this particular character, I don't understand. A time pass book.
