I don't trust the water we drank in Edmonton and Victoria. There are so many pollutants in the air. I use to boil our water, before Brita came out with there water filter.
I have tired Aqua Guard and Eureka but like Brita
We used it for at least ten years, (and changed the filters every four months), until we saw black carbon bits of the filter in the water. We knew is was time to buy a new Brita.
We drove to London Drugs to buy a new Brita, and saw they had a new type with a new shape. It doesn't look like the picture above, but is taller and slimmer than our old round Brita.
It cost us $15.00 CAD, with 3 filters. When we need new filters there is a gauge, (memo), that tells you when it's time to change the filter. There are strips divided into bars that are black when they are new. As you use your Brita, the black lines fall lower, into the next strip. When the black strip is near the bottom we change filters. New filters only cost a few dollars.
Always Read The Instructions
It doesn't matter what water filter system you buy always read the instructions.
What We Did
My husband read the instructions and soaked a filter for fifteen minute, and then put in the filter at the bottom of the cap.
Three quarters of the bottom is where your filtered water goes. One quarter is where I poured in the tap water, (did you know that you should always use hot water, because it's cleaner), into it. Having used a Brita before, I know that I just pour in the water to the top of the line.
A funnel processes the water through the filter, and in few minutes I have clear clean water.
Why We Like Brita
The taste of the water is like drinking water from a stream running down a mountain. It doesn't smell at all.
We have had this Brita for two months and I haven't seen any black specks in our water.
A Recipe
I make a quick limeade or lemonade water from the water. You put in a tiny package of Splenda or Sugar Twin, (sugar substitutes, or you can use a cube of sugar), add a slice of lemon or lime, (after you have washed the out side), add two cubes of ice and fill the glass with water. In a minute you have lemonade or limeade.
If you haven't used a Brita yet, I hope you will try it. It is cheaper than buying bottled water.
Thanks for reading my review.
