Ladies to test your watch to see if it is water proof or not?. .

I have worn quite dressy watches and I have been occasionally thrown into the swimming pool with a very good watch on, I have often found that it as been OK, even for swimming or for long periods of time in water that a good dressy watch can be OK in water if it doesnt steam up or stop due to getting wet. .

Would you prefer to wear your watch whilst swimming or risk of having your gold, silver or good watch stolen. To test your watch is to wear it whilst washing dishes, then if it is ok then wear it in the shower, then in the bath and if it is still OK, if it starts to steam up what so ever then keep it away from water especially deep water. I wouldnt recommend you wear your watch in the SAUNA OR STEAM ROOM or near severe heat. If your watch does steam up if worn in water, try to remove the back of the watch and  battery if so and then replace the battery to a new battery.

If your watch is not dressy or just a cheap casual watch, then it may be ok, but if it is a very expensive watch, your best to check it in the shower 1st, if you find it is ok in water then it is ok, but to check a watch first is not to submerge the watch in deep water, but to let the watch have a light soaking to check that it may be waterproof for occasional wetting.

Some brand name watches tend to be the strongest to be resiliant to water resistance. Ladies do you remember the gold and silver bracelet watches that had the safety chains on them during the 80's and the early 90's, they were waterproof, some of the ones by brand names were water resistant and could be worn swimming, in the pool, shower, bath or sea if watch couldnt be removed to a safe place.  .

Email me your tips & advice Alisonblack73@fsmail.net. I have several gold dressy watches with safety chains on and I would always wear them swimming and on me at all times and they have never steamed up or stopped. I have a very good gold bracelet seiko watch with the safety chain on and I have worn it swimming several times.

Have you been soaked with your watch on and was it a good watch, did it steam up, stop or keep on going, did it dry out, or did it not steam up, would you wear your watch again in water by finding it was Ok in water?   Would you wear a good gold or silver bracelet watch swimming or in the shower etc? How often have you forgotten to remove your watch whilst near water?.

If you are soaked with your watch on and it stops if it is battery or windup. THE BEST THING TO DO IS, to get it dried off & open the back of the watch, if the watch is battery then remove the battery & let it dry out for 12 to 24 hours were it can dry & not leave the moisture in it.  .

I wouldnt recommend anyone wearing their watch in the sauna or steam room even though it may be waterproof.   I would encourage women to wear their watches in the swimming pool to avoid risk of it being taken when swimming ONLY IF THE WATCH IS OK for swimming.
