Buy an AMC- We will give you service. This is what they say.
They have perfected the art of selling AMCs and then not giving any service if any part is required to be replaced.
We have an IFB Diva machine. We used it for 1-1/2 years it went ok. Then problems started. The machine did not start. They sent person, he said pay for the door. We paid for the door. He said "we shall give you service why do you not take an AMC. We took out an AMC.
That is it. That is all. Have a nice day, wash the clothes by hands yourself !
Within a month, the door started giving problems again.
We called them. Another person came, he said that the door is not installed properly and has broken down again. He saw the problem and went away, I will come in a day or two.
Nobody ever came after that.
We call the call center, they give the franchise service center number. They sometimesgive some persons' number in the company who will listen to you and very nicely say your complaint will be catered to the same day only.
Nothing will happen.
You will feel like a fool. We are fools.
They are companies remember. They have to make profits out of fleecing us. If they give us service, how are they going to make profits???
A suggestion with these people...do not get worked up over their trickeries. There is no sense of getting sick or having a high BP or starting up ulcers due tothese people.
We still do not have good consumer protection laws and implementation methodology... they are too time consuming and even if you win a case you will be spending more on fighting the case in terms of time and money that you will drop the exercise as a futile one.
Even if you win a case you would have lost more and got a lot less back, simply asking for your rights is not a possible job in this country.
It is these legalloopholes that these companies feed on. Tillthese loopholes are plugged, they will have people on phones telling you stories and franchisees whoare profitcenterswho are instructed not to give parts to people.
The best answer to this is to buy a non-branded machine at a lower price and at least have the satisfaction that you know what you are buying and till when it will work. Then you buy a new one or pay for repairs on the old one.
