I had always got an impression that the place to eat great chinese food is Mainland China - but was certain that it costs a great deal more
The only way to find out if your assumption is true or not is to go ahead and try it out! Thankfully I got some gift coupons and so- had no choice but to go ahead and check it out .
What surprised me is the number of people there at first, even though its tough times and people are cutting spending - gave me a though" The place is IN DEMAND!!" and I was eager to order food and find out for myself
We were 3 adults and 1 kid- we were seated quick enough. The only drawback was that the table we got was at the very entrance- maybe there needs to be some planning around keeping that table in the location it was...it would be better if one goes 1 floor above.
We had soup- do not recall which one and it was good. We then had a no veg rice, noodles and veg gravy. The taste was clearly authentic and true chinese. The helpings are decent- except for the gravy. We wanted a specific gravy so the waiter said he would figure out something, I was happy about that
The main problem was kids running around( except mine) and the place was too noisy. Wish some folks have more consideration and not have a mini creche there....probably such places either needs to check on kids running around or maybe have a play area separately..
Finally- the bill...and it was a little shocker- was about 1K and the veg gravy that the waiter so nicely said would figure out- was a bomb- about 200 rs...Overall the food is great, the place comfy but the cost is a lot- go ONLY if you can really shell out 300-400 per head...i got saved thanks to my coupons though;)
