A visit to the Mainland China outlet in Kolkata quite literally left me wanting for more. Visited yesterday for our lunch. The special celebration buffet prices were in effect, so it was Rs. 961 per head. They did not offer any complimentary drinks, but I can let go of that owing to the awesome courteous behavior by the staff. The feeling was exactly similar to sitting in a pujo pandel and having bhog, with the waiter asking "Sir arektu nin na" while serving starters. I was quite impressed. We had chicken and sweet corn soup, friend chicken wanton, stir fried shrimp and chicken lollipop for starters, with mixed fried rice, egg noodles, mustard fish, kung pao chicken, shrimp in mustard sauce with their usually mind blowing sweet lime soda for main course. The dessert section consisted of fresh fruits like papaya, watermelon and apples, with Darsan, Coconut rolls, strawberry mousse, pudding and lemon meringue. There was ice cream as well, but we were to fool to have any. The lemon meringue, coupled with the strawberry mousse was simply awesome. I actually filled up on both while having dessert. All in all, a wonderful experience. Next stop, Mainland China Science City. Can't wait.
