This weekend…JUST CHILL!!!. Review on Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya

Salman Khan movies are raining,this year.”Lucky,released in April,”No Entry” is releasing in August and today has released his latest film ”Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya”.In 1989,we saw Salman Khan in ”Maine Pyaar Kiya”,but now one more word has been added to this title,and the word is-‘kyun’.Salman`s latest film is a comedy and at the director`s seat there is nobody else but David Dhawan-the king of comedy films.Salman`s ”Maine Pyaar Kiya” was a super-hit,will ”Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya” have the same fate?David Dhawan and Salman Khan pair has mostly been successful,with films such as ”Biwi No.1” and last year`s ”Mujhse Shaadi Karogi”,will this one become a hit too?Let`s see…

Sohail Khan`s ”Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya”,directed by David Dhawan,stars Salman Khan,Sohail Khan,Sushmita Sen,Katrina Kaif,Arshad Warsi,Isha Koppikar,Rajpal Yadav,Bina Kak and Arbaaz Khan.This film is one of the most hyped up film of this season.It`s song [“Just Chill”] is a hit.It brings the real life lovers pair of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif on the screen,together,for the first time.It brings together the three Khan brothers (Salman,Sohail and Arbaaz) for the first time,in a film and it brings back David Dhawan to film-making after the super success of ”Mujhse Shaadi Karogi”,So,at the box-office it has very strong chances of becoming a hit,but will it be affected by the recent Salman Khan`s telephone threats,controversy?Well,if the film is a good one,then no controversy can create any problems for the film and I must say,that the film manages to entertain!

The story of the film revolves around Samir (Salman Khan),a doctor by profession.He is a complete flirt and is always romancing some or the other girl,but when he is having an affair,he makes sure that he won end up marrying the girl.In short,he just likes to spend time with girls but he never falls in love.Each time his girlfriends express their desire to get married with him,he tells them all that he is already married,so that stops those girld from getting married with him.His world consists of his hospital,where he goes daily and checks out his patients` problems,his girlfriends,his best friend,Vicky (Arshad Warsi), and last but not the least,Naina (Sushmita Sen),who works in the same hospital,as a nurse.Samir is unaware of the fact that Naina actually loves him and that she has a soft corner for him in her heart.Naina is Samir`s most loyal and dutiful friend.She is always there to help him,in life.Samir`s latest crush,nowadays,is Sonio (Katrina Kaif),a young,beautiful lady,whom anyone want to romance with.Obviously,Samir is head over heels,in love with her.Samir starts romancing with Sonia,with the same intention of not getting married with her in the end,but tells her that he is already married.After sometime,Samir feels that he is really in love with Sonia and wants to lead a married life with her,but this is where the problem arises.Samir finds out that there is someone else who loves Sonia and that is Pyaare Mohan (Sohail Khan),Sonia`s neighbour.Samir is under a constant threat as Pyaare knows that he is unmarried and he is also a playboy.Samir doesn`t want Pyaare to tell this secret of his to Sonia but Pyaare always threatens him and always interferes when Samir is romancing with Sonia.The second problem that arises is that Sonia asks Samir to make him meet with his wife,otherwise she won`t marry him.Samir now has to find out a fake wife,and he ends up asking for help from Naina.Naina agrees to act as his wife,until Sonia and Samir don`t get married.Samir asks Naina to act as an unfaithful wife,infront of Sonia,so that Sonia can be convinced that Naina is a fraud and that Samir`s reasons for getting divorced to Naina look true and solid.But this is where the third problem arises.Samir`s mother (Bina Kak),accepts Naina as her daughter-in-law and doesn`t want Samir to divorce Naina.The dangerous part is that if anyone refuses to agree with Samir`s mom,she starts slapping that person.yes! That`s her identity.She starts slapping everyone she meets.Now,Samir is in a dilemma.His life gets filled with tensions.There is Pyaare who might reveal Samir`s secrets.Then he is afraid that what if Sonio finds out that Naina is his fake wife and his horrifying mom,who slaps everyone.The only question which remains in Samir`s mind now,all the time is-”Why did I fall in love”?

Salman Khan comes back after a series of hits like ”Tere Naam”,”Mujhse Shaadi Karogi” and ”Lucky”.This is a performance that will be liked mainly by the actor`s fans.Salman gives a decent performance and at places he performs well,but at most places he overacts.He looks really uncomfortable doing comedy in some scenes and it looks as if he is sweating it off to make you laugh.Comedy doesn`t come naturally to the actor.

Instead,his kid brother,Sohail Khan,is better in this film,as Pyaare Mohan.His comic timing is very good and he is back with acting after about a year`s break and in this film it shows that the actor has done his homework,well.It shows that all so long,he had been learning the ways of acting and the actor manages to make you laugh at places,with his excellent comic timing.This is a revelation!

Sushmita Sen looks pretty and acts well,too.She also makes a good pair with Salman Khan.First,in ”Biwi No.1”,and now in this one she has been paired with Salman.Katrina Kaif,looks gorgeous and sweet but I said this thing earlier in my ”Sarkar” review and I`m saying it even now that it is very important for a Bollywood heroine to know Hindi otherwise it becomes difficult for her to survive for long,here.If she wouldn`t learn Hindi,she will in the near future,end up becoming an item girl.The dubbed voice,in this film,doesn`t suit the actress at all,but her face expressions,are fine.

Arshad Warsi shines,yet again,especially in the court scenes.Bina Kak,as Samir`s strict mother is hilarious and whenever she slaps a person,it looks really funny.Isha Koppikar and Rajpal Yadav are wasted and have nothing much to do.Arbaaz Khan,is there in a very very small guest appearance and so he fails to register any kind of impact.

David Dhawan is back with another laugh riot and as expected even this film is a complete ‘masala’ film with lots of humour and funny moments.Some scenes,that excel are those between Samir and Pyaare Mohan.Their small and regular fights make you laugh.
