STORYLINE:
The story of the movie is so very boring that I would prefer not to include it here in my review, so as to prevent u guys, reading it, from the torture that I went through while I watched it.
In short, this is a story of Sanjana - who falls in love with Prem No.1(Hrithik Roshan) but is compelled by her family to marry Prem No.2(Abhishek Bachchan). And obviously Prem No.1 wins as we all know that our Indian Directors never break a gal's heart.
STARCAST:
Kareena as Sanjana was as usual - girl with lotsa attitude & arrogance. There was nothing new she did in this one. Watching Sanjana gives us a glimpse of 'Poo of K3G' or for-that-matter any character she played yet on the screen. She couldn't do justice to what she was playing. She has proved that Kareena is Kareena and for her its impossible to adapt herself in the character that she is playing. She looks Kareena and not Sanjana.
Hrithik was not at all impressive. He looks artificial and pedantic. After watching this Barjatya flick, we are capable of giving the final verdict on his acting skills - He is a one-movie hero. After KNPH we never saw him doing a gr8 job. He has let all his fans down once again.
Abhishek was - what can we say - seems like he is good but he never gets an opportunity to prove himself. He did justice to the character of Prem No.2. He was quite convincing as a taciturn-guy falling-in-love with Sanjana; not for her looks alone but due to the fact that she made him realise what really life means and taught him to enjoy life.
The reasons for the movie being a fiasco:
The ending of the movie was absolutely illogical.
In his quest to be different & modern, Mr. Barjatya forgot - just a fresh theme and good storyline coupled with his own unique way of presentation can create a magnum opus.
The romantic scenes were not really romantic.
Even the comedy was average.
In short, the movie lacked the Barjatya-Magic.
''I believe that every bad thing has something good about it.'' But I really don't know if this movie had something worth appreciation!! Anyways, let me try to appreciate it a bit.
- The only song which was somewhat good - 'Aur Mohobbat Hai' - picturised on Abhishek & Kareena. Its a sonorous & hummable number.
Really can't find anymore!!
MHPKD came as a big disappointment to all the Sooraj Barjatya fans. Its hard to believe that it could be a Barjatya movie.
