When a sincere actor and a sincere director get together what is the result? The result is a real life drama called Main Meri Patni Aur Woh!!!

Rajpal Yadav as we all know is more than a sincere actor. He has transformed himself with every role. Be it a bit part role in Jungle to his first film as lead actor Main MAdhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon, incidentally also directed by Chandan Arora - the director of the film in question.

Chandan Arora is at it once again. Casting Rajpal Yadav as the lead actor as well all know can have its pros and cons. But given the subject of the film there is no other actor who could have performed. And given the changing times the audiences are ready to lap up whatever is new.

So it wasn't really shocking when in the second week too the theatre was packed to its 70 per cent capacity.

Main Meri Patni Aur Woh deals with the insecurities of a man in a marital relationship. Insecurities could be in any normal person but in this scenario they are centered around the simple fact that Rajpal is not as attractive as his wife Rituparna (quite a refreshing delight).

The film begins with him going to the girl's house and his Mamaji constantly telling him not to worry because the girl will surely reject him. This is stressed upon more when the girl is actually revealed.

IT is Rajpal's honest nature that she gets attracted to and says yes to the proposal. Which reminded me of Rajpal's real life love story. WHile on a shoot in Canada, he was not looking for love or anything. He just got pally to a few local Indians who were there to watch the shooting of the film. THat is how he met his now wife.

It isn't the looks in consideration when you are looking for a partner for life we have oft heard our elders advice us.

Rituparna agrees to get married to Rajpal and all hell breaks lose in his head. Right from the milk man to the vegetable vendor to the guys in the colony all want to appreciate his wife's beauty - a fact with which Rajpal's character cannot deal.

Since the film is shot in authentic locations it gives it more credibility. THe performances needless to say are quite good. Quite a pleasant shock is the ''WOH'' in the film.

Kay Kay Menon makes his presence more than felt in the apt role of the other man.

Although the pace of the film is a bit slow it still manages to hold you.

Rajpal's character inspite of his idiosyncracies manages to evoke sympathy from the audiences.

I would probably have liked if they would have probed a bit more into the psyche but hey it is a film at the end of the day.

Worth a watch.
