The movie was released somewhere in october last year and I watched it with my family on it's it's 3rd day evening show. Times of India review had given it perhaps 2 stars, and I was not willing to watch it still my wife forced me a lot and got the tickets. When at cinemahall, I got the next shock...for a hall with sitting capacity of at least 1000 peoples, there were approximately 25-30 peoples that too in families! I just though this movie is going to make us regret....and after emerging out of the cinema hall I found myself completely wrong wrong wrong! In short I can say: Mai Meri Patni Aur Woh is a very honest movie, with very high quality of humor and sensibility still with strong message. It is a very honest movie which will undoubtedly touch your heart. if given a bit of liberty I would rate it among the best 5 movie of past 5 years. Bravo....one more thing...from here onwards I decided to never trust the movie reviews by Nikhat Kazmi who is totaaly blind and biased now.

A storyline with which any one can get himself somewhere playing as a character, if not exactly Mithilesh Shukla: Mithilesh Shukla (Rajpal Yadav), is a short heighted man, working as assisstant librarian at Lucknow University. Amid the peaceful life of academics and relaxed environment of Lucknow, Mithilesh Shukla's life goes on till his mother becomes regid on getting a suitable girl for him. He had some sort of inferiority complex as he was not ready to marry. Still due to mamu he visits Rai bareli hoping he would reject the girl. But things happen differently at the last moment and girls boy both accept each other. Girl's height is more than boy's and due to our traditional mentality how the boy suffers from a complex which compells him to think about a situation which in fat never existed.

A lot of good humor, simplicity, honesty and a brilliant direction capturing the real life kind in a roll box! He has been able to give us a very good subject with very human and sensible touch. I just though how foolish and distasteful our public has become who can afford to miss such a nice movie.

Peformance...Ultimate. I must say the beauty of the movie hides in each and every form just because of honest approach by whole staff and crew. And performance is among the best. It is nowhere melodramatic and requesting high Adrelinine. It looks just we are watching our boys there. Rajpal Yadav talks ''On the Rocks'' and he is literally on the rocks! Varun Bhadola as Salim wa excellent, so was Rituparno as understanding submissive still no non sparing wife. KK Menon was brilliant as Rituparno's old friend and new neighbour of Mr. and Mithilesh Shukla.

Techies, script and Direction were at best: Best part was script which was written by Rajpal Yadav himself due to his personal experience. Direction takes top seat. I don't remember exactly who directed the movie but whosoever he was he is awesome. He has excellent knowledge of frame to frame continuity and brilliant understand of characters and their slightest expressions. right from covering the ambience of city of lucknow to it's peoples to a common man's life story...I give him standing ovation. Camera is fine. Editing is perfect.

Music: Would you believe It has got all songs brilliant still unnoticed? The movie has three songs and all are on the rocks! if you don't find them anywhere you can get at least two of them at cooltoad.com. For me best one was 1) guncha ki by KK Menon...very soothing song and will lit up your evenings. 2) Doob Jana Re by Sonu Nigam 3) Ye kismat hai by Sabri brithers perhaps. brilliant and honest even on this part too!

Final verdict is that I have simply fallen in love with all the characters of this movie and found this one above Black and Iqbaal, which got attention due to star cast and proper media management. But this movie is at leat for me way ahead of at least Iqbaal. Oscar nomination from India was entirely faulty and result of lobbying was evident when Paheli got selected in India for Oscars nomination rejected even at entry level at oscras. Black suffered due to this lobbying so did Iqbal. But I ask those peoples who say indianness is main reason..could not they see Mai Meri Patni aur Woh? It would have been an excellent entry to Oscar. Just ebcuae these peoples did not ahve enough money to highlight their movie made them unsung....but I salute and as a public will call this movie always in my personal list of best indian Movies at bollywood. Watch it, you will never regret and will surely thank me for this recommendation.

Since they could not do the marketting of the movie properly nd neither forced it entry to oscars I am unhappy with this and instead of 5( which they deserve) I give them 4 stars.
