It was raining. Showers of accolades, claps, whistles and cheers were pouring in the Cinema Halls. As I entered the threshold, a giant screen stood in front of me as if I was going to be sucked in to it indelibly. Soon the flashlight blazed my eyes and the attendant showed me my comfort zone.

Having little time to juxtapose myself with the Pop corn and Wakau Coke, I left the rest of my body to find its posture of relaxation while my eye balls popped up to ensure that they are a witness to the entry of SRK, who incidentally was trying to recreate or rather educe a poor yet digestible enough version of Matrix-Inspired Action with the high jumps and the 360 degrees somersault.

Fed with the direction of the fabulous choreographer Farha Khan, cooked with the dialogues and story of Abbas Tyrewala, prepared by the cinematography of V. Manikandanand flavored by the spicy music of Annu Malllik Main Hun Na (MHN) emerges as a Zandu Balm on the pain rendered by flop flicks like Krishna Cottage, Murder, Hawas and myriad infidelity based movies. (Sorry to take the liberty of addressing them as a Movie)

MHN is an entertainer. Yes it is! Farha Khan assimilated the right ingredients for a spicy entertainer. Comedy & tragedy, emotion & action--everything is present. Shot in and out of a small location of a College campus, Farha has been satisfyingly successful in whitewashing other infidel movies by providing just the right kind of direction. With SRK in the lead, the film was bound to get a gargantuan opening. Recent official surveys depicted that MHN has attained the Number 2 spot in the US Top 10 chart.

The Story revolves around SRK (named Ram Prasad Sharma) who plays a Commissioned Army Major and is dutiful towards his father's dream of the successful execution of Indo-Pak peace Programme. He also has in his mind, the task of reestablishing personal relations between the inter woven characters portrayed by Kabir Bedi(C in C of Army) & Amrita Rao (sanju), Zayed Khan (lucky), Kiron Kher (Maa) et al.

The debutante director evolves on the top by integrating her resourceful mind with the flawless acting of SRK and icing the cake by the supple beauty of Sushmita Sen. The comedy department is randomized and scattered along the movie with the apt services of the Satish Shah & specially mentioning Boman Irani(plays the Principal) who continues to evoke rib tickling laughter with his synchronized & impressive acting.

Talking about Zayed Khan, his attire looks anything but human. His hairdo reveals the missing link between an ape and human. His acting looks better than worse (i.e. bad) but some rewards must be shown (if not given) to him for improving his acting from his earlier flop (forgot the name). Amrita Rao looks pretty. Ummm..She looks pretty and that?s it. Nothing else should or could be worth remark. Naseerudin Shah was under used. His unmatched acting was not put to good use. He could be given few more shots to his credit. And the same can be commented for Sushmita Sen.

Though the script was weak and at any instant, the movie could be just another Run of the Mill stuff. But the apt sensibility of Farha didn?t let that happen. Editing was credulous. Cinematography was at times crisp but most of the time dewey-eyed. Music is above average. The title song is very melodious. The item songs that included a Qawalli were shot nicely and were musically in rhythm with the pace of the movie. Choreography was inerrant. The background music was fresh but was lacking stuff at instances. A music piece (which is worth mentioning) was heard during the first half of the movie. The language was non-hindi but the tune was very haunting. It was a pleasure to hear that piece.

All and all, this movie harbored a weak script but the masala elements that were inputted by Farha khan saved the film from being an object of hatred. The presence of SRK, good music, good action (Allan Amin) with special effects was a pleasing sight and gave immense strut to the movie. Farha also tried to raise sentiments into the hearts of the audience by weaving the script in an Indo-Pak Peace fiber.

Overall the feel was good. One is left wondering if it was the ''feel good'' factor that the movie is a hit or is it just the clichéd ''Feel Good''experience that audiences often undergo whilst witnessing an Happy Ending with the Villain being slain, the Hero being victorious and the rest of the artistes wiping out their tears as the Camera confronts them sequentially. Who cares as long as we are feeling good ?? I don?t. Do you?
