Farah Khan with her directorial debut joins in the ranks of the directors who r obsessed with making the King Khan the Super Hero of thier movies.A Super Hero who can do anything ,make people cry,fight,dance,romance,sing on seeing teachers,fly and most importantly drive rickshaws as fast as a four wheeler among countless others.
Let me tell all those hardcore SRK fans who might just be on the verge of marking my review as not useful that I have no personal grudge with this guy just that I get irritated when certain people try to make him more than that suits him.
The film.
A typical masala movie. Is main action hain, emotion hain drama hain, rona hain ,dhona hain,song dance hain,love triangle, india-pak,spitting teachers aur yahan tak ke TABU bhi hain(No I didnt get it wrong.she was there for less than a fraction of a second).The story revolves around SHAH RUKH KAHN(oh sorry, EURO 2004 influence),SRK and more srk.
Unsurprisingly the best scene did not feature Shah rukh khan but people we dont even know.The prisoners and their families.That scene was according to me the best scene of the movie.
The Characters
SRK:Dont get me started again.
Sushmita:Was reduced to an itemgirl with hardly 5-6 lines in the whole movie.
Zayed:Still long way to go.
Amrita and Bindu:Untolerable
Boman Irani and Kiran Kher:Performed extremely well in their small roles.
Sunil Shetty:Suited his role but just had me confused whether he was the physics or the hindi teacher.
Naseeruddin Shah:The only scene he has in the present is the one he dies the rest is history.
Soundtrack.
Soundtrack was good. But could somebody please tell Anu Malik to stop singing and just do what he is good at.
Overall this movie is a must watch for those who loved Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and K3G because most probably u r another one of those SRK followers. Also a must watch for those who like the masala mirch movies with all in a nut shell story. Well as for me I now feel I should have rather gone for Dev.
