Life threatening first family trip in new XUV5OO

First all frustrations in brief:




  1. New Mahindra XUV 5OO W6 brakes failed after running of around 1400 Kms only in 3 weeks of usage.




  2. Additional frustrating part due to service provided(to get road side assistance):




  3. I was returning back(on 18th May) from Ganpatipule Holiday in Konkan with my wife and 2 sons(10 yrs, 5 yrs), And this happened in between Chiplun and Mahad during overtaking. I some how got control of vehicle to save ourselves.




  4. Tried calling RSA number 1800 102 7006, It failed with some system failure message. Kept trying, but in return similar message between 4-6 p.m. as I remember.




  5. Amol Khodake, my Relationship Manager, Didn’t respond to my calls during same time. He didn’t even care to call back in next 24 hrs until I called him up after reaching Pune.




  6. Now, I had to hunt for Mahindra Service centre. Didn’t find any in your dealers address book. After calling around and stopping few Mahindra vehicles get to know that there is 1 in Mahad, Which was around 100 kms from where I was.I had to take RISK of driving slowly at speed of 20-30 kmps with my family(as it would get dark and there was no other mode) for 100 kms to reach this service centre.




  7. Reached service centre around 6:30 p.m., These guys(Hrishikesh) said though they don’t service XUV they will check for problem. They tried and concluded that this can’t be repaired here. And advised be to call RSA. I told him its not working(he seemed to know that) and he gave me new number 1800 209 6006 which worked instantly(time was around 8 p.m. already). I explained call centre and they assured to not worry and will get back in sometime.




  8. Hrishikesh advised me about Motel Visawa, As all this would take lot of time(around 4-5 hours). I slowly took my car again there and checked in to Hotel. Thanks to Hrishikesh, As by that time whole family was exhausted and we atleast got dinner and settled to rest.




  9. Got call from call centre around 9 and they told that they will send truck and cab.




  10. They insisted that my car would be taken to Nerul, After understanding logic from them and explaining them that Pune is closer than Mumbai they agreed to send my XUV to Sahyadri Pune.




  11. Got call from Cab walla after sometime, He insisted on bringing in extra person with him and we will have to travel back at night with these 2 fellows. Very fishy.




  12. Pune is around 135 kms and there is around 70 Kms on isolated Ghat(Varanda and Bhor). I felt all of this really fishy(with all the news we keep hearing) I asked him to travel only in morning. But he insisted so I asked him to hold on and not start.




  13. I then called call centre again and explained them, but they too kept insisting about same. After some calls they agreed to cancel cab and asked me arrange on my own and assured that it will be reimbursed.




  14. Truck came in at night 3:00 a.m., And I had to ride it up on truck. Don’t know how otherwise it gets loaded on truck. Truck took it to Sahyadri Pune.




  15. Next Day and further:




  16. I reached back to Pune by self arranged cab.




  17. I didn’t receive any call from Mahindra, neither from Sahyadri service centre about my car. Nor it was enquired about me and my family.




  18. I had to call RM and then keep following up with Sahyadri service station about my Car until delivery back.




  19. I received my Car back yesterday, But I don’t have any note of what all was done with my car in written report. I have received verbal assurance from service centre GM and Jayant, that’s it.




  20. I have still not received any root cause yet. Just verbal assurances.






What I need from Mahindra and Mahindra as Company:




  1. I need complete reports of:




  2. What was done with my vehicle at service centre? complete report of activities performed check reports and service reports.




  3. Details like serial number etc for old parts and new parts fitted in my XUV.




  4. Why did Brake Booster fail? The root cause report in detail.




  5. What was done to rectify root problem so that this doesn’t occur again.




  6. Quality check reports performed for my vehicle during new car delivery as well as post service delivery.




  7. Assurance letter that all work is done at highest standards and my vehicle is now as good as new or as good as amount of Kms it is driven.
