I had done a lot of Homework before deciding to go in for the Scorpio. Well, I would have loved to buy the GLX model with the Roof rails, Arm Rests & Body Colored Bumpers & claddings, but the difference between the Price of a DLX & GLX made me go in for the DLX model & I still feel that it makes better sense.

Well, am driving this baby since last 3 months and have covered 5000 kms (Before this vehicle, my average running per year was 6000 kms). I purchased this vehicle in end of february and took it for a long vacation in 1st week of march. I travelled from Mumbai to Goa, Goa to Kannur (Kerala), Kannur to Guruvayur, Guruvayur to Munnar, Munnar to Kodaikanal, Kodaikanal to Ooty, Ooty to Mysore, Mysore to Belgaum & Belgaum to Mumbai.

The total distance covered was 3700 kms & I was the only driver. The vehicle is just amazing. This is my first diesel vehicle & I started liking it more and more with each passing day. It drives almost like any petrol vehicle with the amazing engine that it has.

You can drive at 120 kms throughout the day without any problem. And the most important point being highlighted by everyone regarding the unstability at high speeds, well let me tell you there is nothing wrong with the vehicle at high speeds. But if you are hell bent on creating problems for yourself then you can do that in any vehicle. Infact while travelling from Mysore to Belgaum, I was doing 110kms & there was a guy in Indica ahead of me.

For no rhyme and reason he decided to brake & I had to apply emergency brakes. Believe me, the Scorpio just stopped without any fuss (even I was surprised). So if at all you are having second thoughts regarding handling at high speeds, I would suggest you to go to the dealer and take a test drive on the highway. The A/c is also amazing and even in extreme hot climates your vehicle will be as cool as ever.

Wish some other manufacturers will take a clue from Mahindra and start offering some serious value for money SUVs.
